The meeting of the Working Group on the Development of the Winter Sports Program for 2025-2029 took place on October 1, 2024, at the Department of Physical Culture and Sports at T. Moldo Street, 17. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy (MCISYP) of the Kyrgyz Republic, consultants of the “Sustainable Development of Winter Tourism” project, public organizations, and other key participants.

    The Public Association “Association of Alpine Ski and Snowboard Instructors” played an important role in the meeting and was actively involved in the working group, as well as representatives from the Federation of Mountain Skis of Kyrgyzstan. All these organizations contributed to the discussion of the strategy for the development of winter sports.

    The meeting started at 14:00 with a report by a representative of the MCISYP KR, who presented the current stage of work on the Program and outlined the goals and objectives of the Working Group. In his speech, he emphasized that the development of winter sports should be based on the coordination of efforts of various state and public structures.

    A. Chekirov, a consultant for the “Sustainable Development of Winter Tourism” project, presented the rationale for developing the Program, its structure, and the plan for preparing the project. The presentation sparked active discussion, with participants asking questions concerning the priorities and prospects for the industry’s development.

    During the meeting, tasks were also set for members of the Working Group. Representatives of all participating organizations expressed readiness to cooperate and interact to implement the Program, which will serve as a basis for the long-term development of winter sports in Kyrgyzstan.

    The meeting concluded with the setting of further tasks and agreements on future meetings, where specific steps for developing the project of the Program will be discussed.
